OVERVIEW


Chitwan Jungle Safari via Pokhara is a tour of 9 days starting from Kathmandu – Bandipur- Pokhara – Chitwan- Back to Kathmandu. Chitwan National Park, which covers the districts of Nawalparasi, Parsa, Chitwan, and Makwanpur, is located in the southern-most Terai lowlands of Nepal. Some of the most endangered plants and animals in the world, including one-horned rhinos, crocodiles, and various wild species, can be found in this enormous National Park (conservation area), which is 932 square kilometers in size. The famed wildlife safari in Nepal’s breathtakingly green landscape is well-known.
A visit to Chitwan National Park includes activities like an elephant safari, birdwatching, a cultural village and museum tour, a Tharu cultural dancing program, an elephant breeding center, a jungle nature walk, and a jeep safari tour.



ITINERARY 


Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara – 4/5 hrs driving.
After breakfast at hotel you will drive to Bandipur. we travel west along the Prithvi Rajmarg which offers fascinating glimpses of rural Nepal as you pass through Middle Hill scenery and along major rivers such as the Trisuli Nadi, which rises in Tibet north east of Kathmandu. The route passes through the lower Gorkha region (beneath Manaslu); south of the epicentre of the first of the recent earthquakes. The famed Gurkha Regiments began here.

At Dumre, we turn south to the attractive village of Bandipur. The region’s inhabitants are Newars (noted for their fine stonework and wood carvings), Brahmins and Gurungs (who still send their sons to the famed Gurkha Regiments).

A late afternoon village walk overlooking their lovely valley will climax with a sunset display of some 80km of Himalayan giants to the north. The display will sweep from Dhaulagiri (highest peak in western Nepal), across the 50km Annapurna Range to Manaslu (mountain of the spirit) in the east. Three of the fourteen 8 000 m/26 250 ft peaks at the turn of the head! The sun rises between the eastern Annapurnas and Manaslu

Day 02: Drive from Bandipur to Pokhara – 3 hrs driving.                                                                                                                                          After breakfast, drive back to Dumre and then continue west to the lakeside city of Pokhara and your hotel close to glorious Phewa Lake.
After a rest, we visit Devi’s waterfall and Shiva’s Cave. Explore Nepal’s only Mountain Museum. Visit the Tibetan Refugee Centre; to explore their lifestyle and the manufacture of their typical handicrafts. Drive to Pokhara Peace Pagoda for sunset. Overnight at Hotel on B/B plan. 

Day 03: Morning Visit Sarangkot and day Pokhara Sightseeing.
Today is most important day of you tour because you are going to Sarangkot, a major viewpoint to see the himalayas. Early morning you will drive to Sarangkot to view the magnificent view of the Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre, Himchuli, Manaslu and many others. After spending couple of hours in Sarangkot you will get back to Hotel for Breakfast. After some rest you will have sightseeing around Pokhara. You will visit Phewa Lake, Begnas Lake, Mahendra Cave, Seti River Gorge, Barahi Temple, Mountain Museum, World Peace Pagoda etc which are most popular spots.  Overnight at Hotel on B/B plan. 

Day 04: Pokhara Sightseeing.                                                                                                                                                                                  International Mountain Museum. Here we learn a lot of exciting things about the Himalayas, the 8000m peaks in Nepal.                                      Overnight at Hotel on B/B  plan.

Day 05: Drive to Chitwan National Park from Pokhara, 4/5 hours driving.
After breakfast drive to chitwan from Pokhara. You will be welcomed to resort with welcome drinks and after refresh at resort you will explore and walk around Tharu village who are an ethnic group indigenous to the Terai region. Also village walk you will have sunset view at Rapti river and transfer to resort. Overnight at Hotel on Full board plan.  

Day 06: Full day Jungle Safari in Chitwan National Park.                                                                                                                                Today you will discover why the National Park holds an important place in preserving the wild lives that are rapidly getting extinct from this planet. You’re almost sure to spot one horn rhino, egrets, woodpecker, and deer in their natural habitat. The Park is also home to rhinoceros, tigers, leopards, sloth bears, wild bison, genetic dolphin, 500 birds, butterflies, as well as the near extinct Gharials crocodiles and 543 species of birds that include critically endangered Bengal florican, the vulnerable lesser adjutant, Grey-crowned Prinia and etc.

Day 07: Jungle Safari in Chitwan National Park.
Elephant Safari: A traditional way of exploring the jungle. From the elephants back you can see over the high grass and discover the animals there.

Colorful Tharu Village Visit: Experience the culture and traditions of the Tharu people living close to the jungle and wildlife for centuries. In symbiosis and battle with the wild animals. Nature or Jungle Walk: Exploring the area by foot, watch birds, animals and plants. Our experts can take you to good places for spotting a tiger, rhino or any animal.

Elephant Bath: At Rapti river you will take a bath by elephant. Elephant bath is very good for your health.

Cannoning trip: A typical handmade Canoe will take you along the famous Rapti River where you will encounter the Harmless Gharial and the mud drenched crocodile, basking in the sun at the River banks. Moreover, many aquatic birds can be seen on the way.

Tharu Stick Dance: A melodious tribal dance performed by men with rhyme or drums and the clashing of sticks. The dance shows how to rhinos and other wild animals are scared away from the village. Overnight at Hotel on Full board plan. Private Vehicle

Day 08: Drive or Fly Back to Kathmandu.
After breakfast you will drive to Kathmandu which is 156 Kms and it can take 6/7 hours. You will also have a flight option which will take about 20 minutes. Evening Farewell dinner in typical Nepali Restaurant with cultural dance show. Overnight at Hotel on BB

Day 09: Departure from Kathmandu.
Matterhorn treks & Expedition will be transfer you to the International Airport for your departure flight to your onwards destination.
