Limi Valley Trek is a remote Trans Himalayan Valley in the north of Humla district bordering Tibet, it is like a small Tibet which consists of three Lama ethnic villages. Tiljungma (4100m.) in the west; Jang (3930m.) in the east; and the biggest village Halji (3700m.) in the middle. Among the Lama ethnic in Humla, Limi is the only society ruled with an iron fist, by its monastic theocracy. Those inhabitants who disobey or misbehave are punished with stiff monetary penalties. They also practice a very strict polyandrous marriage system. Limi is very suitable community for researchers in different issues of mountain life. Going to Limi means going to visit the Shangri- la villages of this ancient Buddhist community which are situated in a narrow Trans – Himalayan valley.
Most Attraction of the Trek: Halji Monastery in Limi Valley is one of the oldest and largest monasteries in Nepal. Yalbang Monastery, where around one hundred monks live with their Guru, Pema Ringsal Rimporche, this recently built monastery represent the monastery of Namkha Khyungdzong, at the source of Karnali Rivers, west of Holy Mt.Kailash, in Tibet. Trekking along the gorges of Karnali and Limi Rivers , and scenic views of the landscape.
The natural waterfall (Chiyachhahara) at Chachera 2350m., Tshom Lake (at 4420m.) and Selima Lake (at 4570m.) in Limi Valley, the incredible hot springs (at 2700m.) at Kermi. The whole upper Humla can be seen and experience in this trek. Different flora and fauna including medical and aromatic plants. Experience non timber forest as well as the huge alpine forest. Different types of rare birds and wild animal such as: Danphe, Musk Deer, himalayan tahr, Blue sheep and snow leopard.You fly from Katmandu to Nepalgunj and stay overnight at hotel next morning fly to Simikot (2910m) in West Nepal and start your trek
Humla lies hidden in the far northwest corner of Nepal. At an elevation between 1524m to 7337m, the summers are mild while the winters are bitter cold and windy, as heavy snowfall bound through out the winter. The livelihood is supported by farming, trading and livestock. This very remote mountainous area will lead us to from Lower Dolpa of humla which dominated by the Khasa who came from the south. The Limi valley is at an altitude of 4000 m. This village is marked by numerous cortens and prayer flags. From the limi valley, Haliji Village lies at the edge of the flat plain, 3750 m. Terrace farming can be seen.
The Eleventh century Gompa is some major attraction. Religious festivals and rituals are performed here. Gradually we reach Til Village, a valley of full of streams, cliffs and waterfalls, which naturally structures for the terrace farming. Barely are grown for production of Tsampa and Chang.

Sightseeing in Some of landmarks that are the World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of (Pashupati Nath), the famous ‘Monkey Temple’ (Swayambhu Nath) and Buddhists shrine (Bouddha Nath). You can also make your last minute buying of personal items and preparation for the next day.
