Naya Kang peak also known as Ganja la chuli, is magnificently situated in the Langtang region of Nepal. Langtang is one of the popular trekking destination in Nepal situated north from Kathmandu is easily accessible by road transportation. Langtang National park was designated as the first Himalayan National park in 1970. The area extends from 32 KM north of Kathmandu to Tibet border. The highest peak in the area is Langtang Lirung(7,200m). Its accessibility makes it an ideal choice of short visit to the himalayas, allowing the climbers to experience some best mountaineering activities all in short period within 2-3 weeks.The normal route to climb NayaKang peak is via the snowy north-east ridge.
The trip starts with driving from Kathmandu to the north and arrive at small town of SyabruBensi.Then we walk through the dense forests of Bamboo, Oaks, pines and Mapples following the narrow valley along Langtang Khola to the north-east. Once we get to Goratabela(2,900m), the Langtang valley get wider and one can see Massif Langtang range rising above the skyline.Then heading up to Langtang village which is the biggest settlement of the area influenced by the pure tibetan culture. Once we reach the Kyngjin Gompa; the last settlement where is many lodges are run all year round. From there we make day hike up to Kyangjin Ri(4,700m) or Tsherko Ri(4,980M) for the spectacular himalayan views of the area and acclimatization.Then we cross the Langtang Khola south of Kyangjin Gompa and trek to Naya Kang Basecamp. We Set up highcamp and start the climbing from there. From the summit it can view the spectacular scenery of the mountains of Nepal such as Langtang lirung, Dorje Lhakpa, Gang Chhenpo, Ganesh himal ranges, Manaslu Ranges to Annapurna ranges, mighty Sishapangma(8,013m) in tibet aswell the great views of the valley on the south including kathmandu. We will be trek same route back to syabrubensi and drive to Kathmandu. Optional route: we can trek over the Ganja La pass to Helambu valley on request.
Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu
Arrival in Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from Matterhorn Treks & Expedition will transfer to your hotel, We will briefed about your trip activities. You’ll have rest of the day at leisure.
Overnight at Hotel.
Day 02 Kathmandu Sightseeing
Sightseeing in Some of landmarks that are the World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupati Nath, the famous ‘Monkey Temple’ (Swayambhu Nath) and Buddhists shrine (Bouddha Nath). You can also make your last minute buying of personal items and preparation for the next day.
Overnight at hotel.
Day 03 Kathmandu to Sybrubensi (1,450m) Drive by landcruiser about 7-8 hours
Day 04 SyabruBensi to Lama hotel (2,380m)
First cross the BhoteKoshi river and Langtang river then walk right side of the river through the Bamboo forests to reach Bamboo. After that the trail gradually climb up to Lama hotel.
Day 05 Lama Hotel to Langtang village(3,400m)
Trek forward through Rhododendron and pine forest for about 3 hrs and reach Ghoda Tabela then walk for another two hours to reach Langtang ( Biggest village of the area)inhabited by Buddhist Tamangs and Tibetans.
Day 06 Langtang to Kyanjing Gompa (3,800m)
Trek for 3 hrs to reach Kyanjing Gompa (highest settlement of the area) where you can see local cheese factory and beautiful mountains.
Day 07 Hike up to kyanjing Ri or Tsherko Ri for the acclimatization and panoramic view of the mountains. Same day back to Kyanjing Gompa
Day 08 Day Hiking to Langsisa Kharka and return back to Kyangjin Gompa
Day 09 Trek to Nayakang Base Camp(4,510M)
Overnight Camping.
Day 10 Trek up to high camp(4,960M)
Camping overnight.
Day 11 Summit Naya Kang (5,844m) and back to Base Camp
Day 12 Trek back to Langtang village
Day 13 Trek back to Lama hotel
Day 14 Trek back to Shybru Bensi
Day 15 Shybru to Kathmandu
This pleasant day you may have full day at leisure at your own or can be extends your extra trip with us on additional cost or time to explore the Thamel for last day shopping and evening Matterhorn Treks & Expediton will take you for Farewell dinner.
Overnight at Hotel on BB basis.
Day 16 Departure from Kathmandu
Matterhorn treks & Expedition will transferred to the International Airport your departure flight to your onwards destination.
