Pokalde Peak (or Dolma Ri) is a mountain peak of Nepal situated 12 km southwest of Mount Everest. Pokalde Peak is one of the shortest and easiest trekking peaks in the Everest Region. The majority of the 650m climb from base camp requires little more than walking with short sections of scrambling up rock.
During the trekking seasons this rocky peak is scarcely covered by snow. Despite its lack of any great technical difficulty, it offers trekkers the prospect of reaching 5,800m in elevation and superb views from the summit, particularly to the South East, North West and West. Other prominent mountains visible from the summit include Makalu, Ama Dablam and Pumori. Because of its relatively low difficulty and impressive summit vista’s for this altitude, Pokalde is a popular commercial tourist peak in Nepal for those wishing to climb a Himalayan peak without needing to use ice axes and crampons.
The first ascent of Pokalde Peak was made in April 1953 via the ridge adjoining the Pokalde summit with the Kongma La high pass (5,535m). This ridge continues from Kongma La to the slightly higher Mehra Peak (Kongma Tse) at 5,820m and beyond. Hence the prominence of Pokalde Peak is modest at 271m (889 feet). Most ascents of Pokalde Peak nowadays are made by skirting the opposite Makalu side of the mountain.
Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu
Arrival in Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from Matterhorn Treks & Expedition will transfer to your hotel, We will brief about your trip activities. You’ll have rest of the day at leisure.

Day 02 Kathmandu Sightseeing
Sightseeing in Some of landmarks that are the World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of (Pashupati Nath), the famous ‘Monkey Temple’ (Swayambhu Nath) and Buddhists shrine (Bouddha Nath). You can also make your last minute buying of personal items and preparation for the next day.

Day 03 Today early in the morning,
We drive about 15 minutes to Tribhuvan International Airport. After 30 minutes scenic flight to Lukla (2,804 meters.), we begin our trek to Phakding (2,610 meters.) – 3 hours easy walking. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 04 Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,535 meters)

Day 05 Acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar
This is a day for an acclimatization. We have a fine walk around the valley to adjust with thin air. Namche Bazaar is known as the gateway of the Everest. We will take you to a museum too on the same day. There you can see the traditional custom of Sherpa peoples. Besides, a fine view of the Everest and other mountains can be over viewed from this place.

Day 06 Trek to Tengboche (3,850 m)
By reaching Tengboche, we visit a monastery known as Tengboche monastery. Then you will be taken to observe the prayer ceremony whether in the evening or morning.

Day 07 Trek to Dingboche (4,350 meters.)

Day 08 Day trip to Chhukung valley and trek back to Dingboche
Today you can enjoy another day for acclimatization. This day we will have trip to Chhukung valley, then we return to Dingboche in the evening. We will take you to Chhukung Ri (5,546 meters) too. From there, we can observe a fifth highest mountain Makalu.

Day 09 Trek to Lobuche (4,950 mtr.)

Day 10 Trek to Ghorakshep (5,160 meters) – Everest Base camp (5,400 mtrs) and return to Ghorakshep

Day 11 The day starts with a hike up to Kalapathar (5,545 meters)
An excellent viewpoint to observe the Mount. Everest and innumerable spectacular mountains views. Then trek head upto Pokalde route.

Days 12 to 14 Kongmala Pass (5,535 m), Pokalde peak climbing (5,806 m) – then to Chhukung valley
Overnights at tented camp.
Day 15 Trek back to Tengboche Monastery
Overnight at tented camp.
Day 16 Trek to Khumjung Village (3,753 meters)
Overnight at tented camp.
Day 17 Trek to Phakding (2,610 meters)
Overnight at tented camp.
Day 18 Trek to Lukla
Overnight at tented camp.
Day 19 Morning flight back to Kathmandu from Lukla

Day 20 Kathmandu
