Ninchin Kangsa (7,206 m) The Mountain, which nobody knows, we approach the unknown Ninchin Kangsa from Lhasa – a journey with many cultural highlights. At the fairytale basis camp we arrive with Yaks, which carry our material. The prospect on the Yamdrock TSO-lake and the far plains Tibet’s are overwhelming. The moderate ascent over a broad ridge is a joy.
From a far, meager and rugged passed high plateau in four thousand meters height, to the sky more near than all different population, the Tibetan people looks down there into the world too their feet. But also outside of these holy places the everyday life is strongly determined by the religious ardor.
Simultaneous this promise full country was over Centuries an area of martial people; it opposed the conquest through the powerful neighbors and even subdues parts of China. This in the course of moved Tibetan history developed duality of fortress and place of pilgrimage surprises at the same time until today.
After the legend Tibet once was covered of water. One day five opal-colored clouds appeared over the sea, which transformed into fairy godmothers and which instructed floods to withdraw itself. On its retreat the sea left a multiplicity of lakes, which turquoise reflections intersperse the country. The fairy godmothers transformed into the five highest mountains of the Himalaya.
