Mount Lhakpa Ri is the newly becoming famous expedition in Tibet; and many mountain climbers have been attracting these days to Lhakpa mountain climbing through Tibet side. It divides the upper east Rongbuk and Kharta glacier. It is neighboring Mount Everest and one feels him as equal to be climbed Mount Everest the moment, he reaches on the top of Lhakpa RI Mountain.
Lhakpa RI expedition is a superb objective which should appeal to climbers looking for a 7,000m summit in a prominent location. The visit to Lhasa, the overland journey across the Tibetan Plateau, the trek in the footsteps of Mallory and a climb with awesome views of Everest, are the ingredient of a very special expedition. It will also give a life-long impression of Tibet and its people and an insight and deep respect for the achievements of the early Everest pioneers.
The Lhaka ri Expedition starts from Kathmandu- Zhangmu-Nyalam-Tingri and Lhakpa Ri Base camp 5200m. After that you have to explore a few days for acclimatization. After Lhakpa base camp, you should start your expedition ahead towards the Middle camp 5780m, with the preparation of loading yaks and expedition crews. Then you have to take a one overnight camp as a rest in this middle camp. Continuing ahead to this trek to you reach at the Advance Base camp; it is situated at the elevation of 6,400m.
After this point, if you feel some altitude sickness; and you should take a couple of days rest there for acclimatization. After that you climb up ahead then you reach almost at the level of East Rombuk Glacier to the Rophu La and from there you will get fantastic views of Makalu & Kanchanjunga.

Arrival in Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from Matterhorn Treks & Expedition will transfer to your hotel, We will brief about your trip activities. You’ll have rest of the day at leisure.

Day 02 Kathmandu Sightseeing
Sightseeing in Some of landmarks that are the World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of (Pashupati Nath), the famous ‘Monkey Temple’ (Swayambhu Nath) and Buddhists shrine (Bouddha Nath). You can also make your last minute buying of personal items and preparation for the next day.

Day 03 Preparation day in Kathmandu for Lakpa Ri Expedition

Day 04 Drive from Kathmandu to Zhangmu, 7500 feet, across the Chinese border in Tibet
The border town of Kodari is reached in about 4 to 5 hours. We’ll continue on to Zhangmu where we pass through Chinese immigration.
Day 05 Drive from Zhangmu to Nyalam. O/N Lodge
This drive is a short day so we arrive at Nyalam in the early afternoon. The road winds along steep mountain slopes and is quite impressive. As we travel further to the north the land becomes increasingly dry.
Day 06 Nyalam – Tingri
We cross the stony Lalung Leh Pass at 16,500 feet. If it is clear we can see great views of the peaks to the south and about a little later our first views of Everest and Cho Oyu.
Day 07 Rest day at Tingri for acclimatization
Day 08 Tingri – Base Camp
Day 09 Rest day at Base Camp
Day 10 Base Camp – Middle Camp
Day 11 Middle Camp – ABC
Day 12 – Day 22 Climbing period of Lhakpa Ri
Day 23 ABC – Base camp
Day 24 Base camp – Drive back to Nylam
Day 25 Nylam – Cross border Drive to Kathmandu at Same day
