Mt. Pumori is one of the premier 7000M peaks in the Everest Region. It is ideal for those looking to pursue the 8000M peaks, or a fantastic climb in its own right. The route follows the Southeast buttress before its traverses to the East Ridges for the remaining of the ascent. Requiring excellent physical and endurance, Pumori offers section of wild exposure, views of Lhotse and Everest, with technical difficulty worthy of any Himalayan alpinist. Pumori is a serious expedition peak designed only for experienced climbers.
Pumori lies in the upper Khumbu Region of Nepal. The Peak is on the border between Nepal and Tibet, where the arid Tibetan Plateau stretches to the north and west, and the brilliant white peaks of Nepal rise to the South and East.
An outlier of Pumori is Kala Patthar (5,643m/18,513 ft), which appears as a big brown bump below the impressive south face of Pumori. Many trekkers going to see Mount Everest up close will attempt to climb to the top of Kala Patthar.

Namche Bazzar is the main center of the Everest (Khumbu) region and has government offices, ATMs, Internet cafes, shops, restaurants, a bakery and a colorful market each Friday evening and Saturday. If we trek a few hundred vertical feet during the day, it will help us to properly acclimatize. Visit the Tourist Visitor Center near the Sagarmatha National Park headquarters and observe an assortment of things related to the first Everest ascenders, Sherpa culture and learn about the various plant and animal life of the Everest region. We also take an interesting side trip up to Khumjung and climb up to famous airstrip at Syangboche. Just above the airstrip is the Everest View Hotel, a Japanese scheme to build a deluxe hotel with great views of the highest mountains on Earth. The Khumjung valley surrounded by the snowy peaks of Kongde and Thamserku and the sacred peak of Khumbila hosts a well known monastery that houses a yeti scalp.
